MANIFESTO
The first videonale exhibition is presented in the context of the protests against the judicial overhaul in Israel and the participation of women in these protests. It is dedicated to women's art in the field of video, introducing distinct feminist positions. According to a Jewish Philosopher, Prof. Yeshayahu Leibowitz, the Feminist Revolution is the most important in human history, liberating society from gender stereotypes, and allowing both women and men to be free. The struggle for women's rights in labor and politics, for their right to vote and be elected, the right to their bodies, and the right to live a violence-free life, became part of the recent protests and social change, leading to laws concerned with equal rights, equality in employment, and the protection of women from violence.
Women take a significant part in the current wave of protests throughout Israel. They act out of urgency, protesting against a future violation of their rights, which may be an outcome of the legal overhaul. Women make up over 50 percent of the population in Israel. They fight for their voices to be heard, while resolutely opposing the passage of legal reforms and discriminatory legislation that will harm women and their access to equal justice, the right to their bodies, and other rights and freedoms. They feel that this is a fight for the future of women in Israel based on the perception that a democratic state promotes women, allows them adequate representation, and does not exclude them from the public and political spheres.
